The onboarding flow runs when you first create your account. You can revisit and update everything anytime from Company Profile.

What You Will Set Up

Onboarding configures your first AI Profile — the foundation the AI uses to match opportunities, qualify contracts, and generate proposals. It takes about 5 minutes.

Business Information

Provide your core company details:
  • Company name — legal entity name used on solicitation responses
  • Company address — registered business address
  • UEI — your SAM.gov Unique Entity Identifier (optional; add later if you don’t have it yet)
  • Operating regions — states, regions, or areas where you can perform work
  • Certifications — 8(a), Woman-Owned, SDVOSB, HUBZone, ISO, or any other applicable set-asides
Accept the Terms & Conditions to continue.

Build Your AI Profile

You have two options:Option A — Generate from your website (recommended)Enter your company website URL and click Generate Profile. The AI crawls your site and auto-populates:
  • Business description
  • NAICS codes
  • PSC codes
  • Operating regions
  • Suggested certifications
Review every field and edit as needed before saving.
The AI-generated profile is a starting point. Spend a few minutes expanding the Business Description — this single field has the most impact on your recommendation quality.
Option B — Enter details manuallyWrite your Business Description directly in the text field and add your NAICS codes manually. This is useful if you don’t have a public website or prefer full control.

Add Deal Makers & Deal Breakers

Fine-tune which opportunities surface by setting:
  • Deal Makers — keywords that signal a good fit (e.g. “8(a) sole source”, “cloud migration”, “SDVOSB set-aside”)
  • Deal Breakers — keywords that disqualify an opportunity (e.g. “TS/SCI required”, “construction”, “overseas”)
These can be updated anytime in the AI Profile Setup tab.

Upload Documents (Optional)

Upload company documents to enable proposal generation and give Sammy more context about your business:
  • Capabilities statements
  • Past performance records
  • Certifications
  • Proposals (won and lost)
  • Case studies or white papers
Supported formats: PDF and Word (.docx) only. Documents over 500 pages are excluded from AI indexing.
Documents are used for proposal generation and Sammy context — they do not affect your recommendations. You can skip this step and upload documents later in Company Profile → Documents.

Your AI Profile is the engine behind every SamSearch feature. Return to Company Profile anytime to:
  • Add more NAICS codes or certifications
  • Expand your Business Description
  • Refine Deal Makers and Deal Breakers
  • Upload or replace documents
  • Configure Sources & Alerts
  • Create additional AI Profiles (up to 3 per account)
Onboarding complete. You are ready to search, save opportunities, and start winning contracts.
