Sammy chat interface

Sammy Everywhere

Sammy isn’t limited to its own chat tab. A docked Sammy panel is available from any page in the app, so you can ask a question without losing your place.
Docked Sammy panel open alongside an opportunity page, showing the chat input and conversation thread

Opening Sammy from Anywhere

  • Ask Sammy button — Click Ask Sammy in the top navigation bar on any page to open the docked panel without navigating away.
  • Dashboard search box — On your home Dashboard, the main search box prompts “Ask Sammy to…” with rotating suggestions like find opportunities, draft an email, or summarize my pursuits.
  • Quick-action chips — Below the dashboard search box, one-click chips jump straight into common requests: Customize dashboard, Find opportunities, Draft an email, and Summarize my pursuits.

Context-Aware Answers

Wherever you open it from, the docked panel already knows what you’re looking at — an opportunity, a Journey, a proposal draft, or your dashboard — and answers accordingly, the same way Sammy does when opened from its full chat tab. See Page Awareness below for details.

Draft and Send Emails Without Leaving Chat

Ask Sammy to draft an email — to a contracting officer, teaming partner, or teammate — right from the docked panel. If you’ve connected Gmail or Outlook, Sammy can send it for you without leaving the conversation.

Charts in Chat

Ask Sammy for a chart — for example, a breakdown of your pipeline by stage or a comparison of set-aside types — and it renders directly in the conversation.

The Chat Interface

Sammy lives under Tools → Chat with Sammy in the left sidebar. The interface has two sections: Left sidebar — Chat history
  • Search chats — find any previous conversation by keyword
  • New chat button — start a fresh session
  • All past conversations, labeled by topic
Main area
  • The active conversation thread
  • Pinned prompts — quick-access shortcuts for your most common tasks
  • Browse prompt library — 100+ expert-crafted prompts organized by task type
  • Ask anything input bar at the bottom, with a voice dictation button

OCR Capability

Sammy can read scanned PDFs, images, and other documents that are not machine-readable. Upload any file directly into the chat and ask Sammy to extract its contents. Common uses:
  • Extract line items and part numbers from DiBBS solicitation PDFs
  • Read scanned certifications or past performance records
  • Pull pricing data from supplier quote sheets
  • Convert a paper RFP into structured text for analysis
For DiBBS opportunities, Sammy’s OCR automatically extracts quote form fields, which then feed directly into the proposal generation flow.

Page Awareness

Sammy is context-aware across the entire app. When you open Sammy from:
  • A contract page — Sammy has the solicitation documents, NAICS codes, set-aside status, and due dates in context
  • A Journey — Sammy knows your win themes, tasks, compliance matrix, and proposal status
  • The Proposal Editor — Sammy can see the draft text and help refine specific sections
  • Market Watch — Sammy can draft outreach emails to contracting officers you are researching

Writing Proposals with Sammy

In the Proposal Editor, highlight any text and ask Sammy for help:
  • “Make this more concise”
  • “Does this address the requirement in Section L.4?”
  • “Rewrite this to emphasize our past performance”
  • “Add specific metrics to strengthen this paragraph”
Sammy returns a suggestion you can insert below, replace the selected text with, or discard.

Memory

Sammy remembers key facts about your company from your Company Profile and previous conversations. Memories are split into two types:
  • Company Memories — Capabilities, certifications, NAICS codes, past performance highlights, contract vehicles (shared across your team)
  • Personal Memories — Your role, preferences, and conversation context (private to your account)
View and manage memories in the Memories tab of your Company Profile. To update what Sammy knows, just tell it:
  • “Forget my old NAICS code and use 541512.”
  • “We now have a CMMC Level 1 certification.”
  • “Our focus market is DoD cybersecurity.”

Tips

Be specific

“What compliance requirements apply to this contract?” gets a better answer than “Tell me about this opportunity.”

Add context

Tell Sammy who you are: “We’re a woman-owned small business with 5 years in IT managed services…”

Use follow-ups

Start broad, then drill down: “What are the key requirements?” → “Do we meet the past performance standard?”

Verify important claims

Always cross-reference critical compliance or legal information with the actual solicitation document.
Sammy is a research and drafting assistant, not a substitute for legal or compliance review. For high-stakes decisions, consult your legal team or the contracting officer directly.
