SamSearch finds, qualifies, and helps you pursue government contracts. This page gets you through the three things every new account needs to do: build a profile the AI can actually use, see your first recommendations, and save or start tracking an opportunity.

Set up your Company Profile

Go to Company Profile in the left sidebar. If you have a company website, enter the URL and click Generate Profile — SamSearch drafts your business description, NAICS/PSC codes, and suggested certifications for you to review and approve. Otherwise, fill these in manually.
AI Recommendations needs a minimum signal to generate anything. Your profile must have at least one of: a positive keyword, a NAICS code, a PSC code, or a business description of 40+ characters. Skip all four, and recommendation generation is silently skipped on every run — with no error shown. See Troubleshooting: “I’m not getting any recommendations” if this happens to you.

Check your AI Recommendations

Open Recommendations in the left sidebar. Once your profile clears the signal gate above, SamSearch scores opportunities against it and lists your best matches — no search required. Each result shows a Fit score and a “why this matched” breakdown.
Recommendations are generated in batches, so a brand-new profile won’t have any right away. That’s why finishing Onboarding drops you on a Search already filtered by your NAICS codes instead. If the Recommendations page is empty but your profile is set up, click Refresh Recommendations to score the latest opportunities against it.

Save an opportunity or start a Journey

On any result, click the star to add it to Saved Opportunities — a lightweight bookmark, private to your login.To actually track and work a pursuit — tasks, documents, compliance, proposal generation — open the opportunity and click Start Journey instead. This keeps the Journey linked to the opportunity’s source data, including future amendments. Learn Journey Hub →
That’s it — you have a profile the AI can score against, a recommendations feed, and your first tracked pursuit. From here, Search, AI Qualification, and Proposal Generation are the next things worth exploring.

Go to the login page and click Forgot Password. Follow the instructions sent to your email.
Usually, yes — it’s one of a handful of known mechanisms, not a bug. The Troubleshooting guide walks through the most common causes: an incomplete profile, a hidden source, or the qualification cache excluding opportunities you’ve already seen.
