# Company Profile

> Set up your company information to power AI recommendations, proposal generation, and opportunity matching

<Tip>
  Your Company Profile is the foundation of SamSearch. The more complete it is, the better your AI recommendations, proposal drafts, and opportunity matches will be.

## Profile Tabs

Your Company Profile is organized into five tabs:

    The fastest way to build your profile. Describe your business in plain language and let the AI generate your profile automatically.

    ### How it works

        Enter your website URL or write a free-form description of what your company does, your capabilities, and your past performance.

      <Step title="Generate your profile">
        Click **Generate Profile** and the AI will populate your company info, business description, and NAICS codes automatically.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Review and save">
        Review the generated content in the other tabs and make any adjustments before saving.
      </Step>

      If you have a company website, enter the URL — the AI can analyze it and generate your full profile in seconds.

  <Tab title="Company Info">
    Core company details used across proposals and solicitation responses.

    ### Required Fields

        Your official business name as it appears on legal documents and government registrations.

        Your official business address used in all proposal responses.
      </Card>

    ### Business Identifiers

      <Card title="UEI (Unique Entity Identifier)" icon="hash">
        12-character alphanumeric identifier assigned by SAM.gov. Required for federal contracting.
      </Card>

      <Card title="CAGE Code" icon="shield">
        5-character identifier used by the Department of Defense and other agencies.
      </Card>

      <Card title="Region" icon="globe">
        The geographic locations where your business operates.
      </Card>

    ### Business Description & NAICS Codes

    * **Business Description**: Describe your core competencies, past government projects, and unique qualifications. The more detail you provide, the better AI can match opportunities and generate proposals.
    * **NAICS Codes**: Enter all relevant industry codes separated by commas. These drive your AI recommendations and opportunity matching.

      If you provided a website in AI Profile Setup, your description and NAICS codes will be auto-generated. You can edit them here at any time.

    Click **Update profile** at the bottom to save your changes.

  <Tab title="Email Preferences">
    Control how and when SamSearch sends you opportunity alerts and notifications.

    Configure your preferences for:

    * **Opportunity alert frequency** — Daily, weekly, or as new matches arrive
    * **Newsletter subscriptions** — Product updates and government contracting tips
    * **Notification settings** — Which types of activity trigger emails

    Upload company documents that the AI uses to generate proposals and match opportunities.

    ### Uploading Documents

    Click the upload area or drag and drop files. Supported formats: **PDF and Word (.docx)** only.

    Select the document type before uploading:

    * Capabilities Statement
    * Past Performance Records
    * Certifications
    * Financial Statements
    * Technical Proposals
    * Company Brochures

    ### Managing Uploaded Documents

    Documents are organized by type. Click any category to expand and view individual files. Each document can be viewed, downloaded, or deleted.

      **Tip for multiple service lines**: If you offer different services (e.g., construction and IT), upload separate capability statements for each. When generating a proposal, you can select only the documents most relevant to that specific opportunity.

    <Tip>
      **Agent Memories** are key facts Sammy has learned about you and your business through your conversations. They help Sammy give more personalized, relevant responses over time.
    </Tip>

    From this tab you can:

    * **View** everything Sammy currently knows about your company
    * **Delete** any memory you don't want stored
    * **Update** information by chatting with Sammy directly

## Common Questions

**Q: How often should I update my profile?**
A: Review it whenever your services, certifications, or contact information change — at minimum quarterly.

**Q: What if I don't have a UEI or CAGE code yet?**
A: You can create and use your profile without them. Add them later when you have them — they're required for government contracting but not for using SamSearch.

**Q: Can multiple team members edit the profile?**
A: Yes, team members with appropriate permissions can update different sections.

**Q: How does my profile affect search results?**
A: Your NAICS codes, capabilities, and certifications help the AI prioritize and surface more relevant opportunities for your business.
